If only we could understand the gravity of the journey, the urge, the lust, the greed, the reason, the everything of a common being.

Anyways how does it even matter? After all we are the masters of our own choices, of our own fate and everything that we seek. We don’t need help! We need more and more ego to refill the already full body.

Let us try connecting a few shattered pieces from here and there. Or at least try let’s try to.

Nirbhaya was a doctor. She had a life to lead, a future to look up to, parents to appreciate, a world of love to bathe in. That’s the first piece.

The second piece has those criminals. Filthy, ruthless and cold blooded animals. Uneducated, illiterate, unkempt, unemployed, no future to look up to, no one to appreciate. Alone. Dirty. Cold.

Here’s the third piece from the innocent cradle. The day the victim was born must’ve been a day of pride for her family. A few notches higher must have been the pride and happiness of the parents of those criminals who had the luck of getting a boy child, though it is just an old cliché.

Both the truth is that, on both sides the parents had great expectations from them. Raised them with values and inculcated innocence in them.

Everything seems at its place even though the criminals were of a poor background they still fit in the piece because they are yet another part of the family’.

It is just that the most disheartening part is when we come to the piece where they met. And things changed once and forever. They chose their journey, from the innocent cradle to the filthy loophole.

We know the incident, we know what had happened and maybe re-creating that one piece which has been destroyed into a mere dust of memory would only make the connection a little too difficult.

So let’s just join the other pieces together.

What’s the outcome of this solved puzzle?

Here it goes:

A few illiterates with a young, fresh juvenile among them altered the body of a beautiful resplendent lady doctor in a country where women are worshipped.

The bottom part of the puzzle is that they did all this without even thinking about their expecting family, about the next minute of their life, about the capital punishment that they might have to face.

And what exactly was the root cause that overrode the values from childhood?

Was that lust? Or was it something else? I am not a lawyer so the honest answer is I do not know what provoked the once innocent toddler to change into ferocious animals. But what I do know is that we never tried to understand the ulterior motive because we were so much filled with anger and hatred and for my part, maybe not just for me but for everyone, the punishment wasn’t justified. Those men should have been tortured though our law doesn’t speak of that. There was a necessity for them to understand how excruciating every move must’ve been for her, the pain, the suffering, the everything. And what is more? There was a juvenile among the cold blooded murderers.

Well people believe that if there is no age for a crime there shouldn’t be an age for punishment either. But, the fact that revolves around is that he was still a kid! A mere teenager! Why did he do so?

At teens, emotional and physical stability are like wet mud being casted into a pot. What urged him or compelled him to do so? How did he lose his childhood so soon? Where did his morals vanish?

Well maybe a few questions need understanding and an intellectual approach, not an emotional one, which none of us even tried because we were flown by the effusiveness of anger and that was where enigma was born and the key to it lost forever.
